  2. Food • In the United Kingdom fish and chips, steak, and kidney pie are famous. They eat mince, tat ties, and stews.Curry is one fo the most popularspicesin the U.K. They also have a wide variety of ethnic foods. Most people enjoy fast food, but the governor made them cut back because it is not healthy.

  3. Language • They speak mostly English with a British accent in the U.K. But they can also speak other languages in the United Kingdom. They can speak Welsh from the country Wales, or they can speak Irish from Ireland.

  4. Sports and Recreation • Soccer is the most popular sport in the U.K. Although in the U.K they call it Football. But soccer isn’t the only sport they play. They also like to play tennis, cricket, swimming, darts and much more. Cricket is sort of like baseball, where you use a bat and a ball.

  5. Education • In the U.K students start school by age four or five. In the U.K you must wear a uniform in every grade. At the age of 16 students take a test for a diploma. In the U.K if you want to go to college you must stay in school for 2 extra years.

  6. Other Interesting Facts • The United Kingdom celebrates the fewest holidays in Europe. The most popular week is the week between Christmas and New Years. NewYear’s Eve is Scotland’s biggest holiday. They call it Hogmanay.
