What is AIDS? • AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome)is a virus that attacks the immune system, and it leaves the body open for infections and cancers. • Common infections like the flu or strep throat that normally don’t affect the body that much, will cause very bad illness. • HIV has been found in saliva, tears, nervous system tissue and spinal fluid, blood, semen, vaginal fluid, and breast milk. But is only transferable by blood, breast milk, semen, and vaginal secretions. • Can spread through mother and child, sex (including oral), or needle sharing.
Symptoms of AIDS • To get AIDS you have to be HIV positive. Then, if not treated will form into AIDS. • Some Common symptoms of AIDS • Chills • Fever • Sweats (at night) • Swollen lymph glands • Weakness • Weight loss Infection with HIV at first, will produce no symptoms. It becomes AIDS when T cell count is 200 or below.
CURE? • There is No Cure for AIDS as of right now. There is biotics that will slow down the process of AIDS developing.
