Top tips for a successful application • Identify an appropriate funding stream • Know your funding stream Aims, eligibility, who is going to assess the application • Before writing Read the application guidance carefully (and follow them exactly) • Assemble a strong team The team needs to have the expertise and experience to carry out the research
While writing the grant Make sure you answer all the questions in the exact format specified in the instructions • How much to ask for Detail what resources are required and when • Plan ahead It will take longer than you think so leave enough time • Presentation A poorly presented application does not create a good impression
