1. Why MOOCs for UoLIP? • MOOCs provide an opportunity to market the UoLIPs to a wider audience • Over 125k registrations with over 3 months to go to Course commencement date • 3m+ users on the Coursera platform • Successful completers may wish to continue to register for a UoLIP.

2. Why Coursera? • Feb 21st 2013 Coursera announce 29 new University partners and delivery in 5 languages, over 300 courses • EdX announces 5 new partners (Feb 2013) – 675k users • Successful completers may wish to continue to complete a UoLIP.

4. Next Steps for MOOCs • In short…. • MOOCs to date may contain elements of good, bad and ugly practice but they will evolve …. there will be innovation and there will be business & academic models which will emerge and provide for scalable, high quality online programmes..
