Basic Information • Grades: 10th- 12th • Mission Statement: Ben Davis University High School, a partnership between the MSD of Wayne Township and Vincennes University, will provide rigorous, innovative educational programing designed for students who excel in a small and supportive academic environment, culminating in a high school diploma and associate’s degree. • Enrollment: 368 students • School hours: 9:15am- 4:15pm • Facility- Ben Davis University High School opened in August 2007 at the former Ben Davis junior High • Staff: 16 teachers plus office staff, students services, nurse, cooks, custodians, and administration

  11. School Purpose • To graduate high school and have an easy transition to college • Achieve an associates degree while achieving a high school degree • More specifically focused program • Smaller classes • Rank and sort students

So what? • I assumed the school would be 9-12th and offer college credits. • I did not realize it was only 10-12th grade and that they only offered specific associate degree programs • I also didn’t realize they would graduate with an associates degree. • I think this school is great for students who have a very specific career in mind. • Based on research I would say this school is progressive, it is very student centered.
