  2. Course Selection and Careers Expo • Tonight: • Familiarise yourself with different subjects and talk to teachers • Connect with the industry providers • Explore different career options • Keep your options open • Talk and pray together as a family

  3. Course Selection and Careers Expo • Right now: • 2017 Options Handbook is on the school website • Parents can login to KAMAR portal and select options. • Options can be changed up until close off day on Monday 5th September.

Course Selection and Careers Expo Timetable 2017 • Construction of the timetable is based on student selection • Student selection determines staff allocation • Option lines are developed on a ‘best fit’ model • Changing options after selection is not desirable • Students’ NCEA results determine final entry into a course

Course Selection and Careers Expo University Entrance: To gain University Entrance students must have: • NCEA Level 3 • Numeracy (10 credits at Level 1) • Literacy (5 specified reading credits and 5 specified writing credits from Level 2) • Three university approved subjects at Level 3 with at least 14 credits in each

  7. Course Selection and Careers Expo Selecting subjects via KAMAR: 1. Check Options Handbook for information on subject choices 2. Login to kamar.kingsway.school.nz 3. Select “course selection” at the bottom of the left hand menu. 4. Select subjects in order of preference 5. Click “Save” to finish6. You can go back and change subjects as often as you like up until Mon 5th Sept.
