  2. The past perfect tense describes events in the past that had happened prior to another past event.

  3. Formula: past perfect tense = haber (imperfect) + past participle

  4. había habías Había (had) habíamos habíais habían haber - imperfecto + past participle

  5. yo había comido I had eaten nosotros habíamos dormido we had slept habían visto they had seen habías puesto you had put había escrito he had written Uds. habían jugado You had played Put the two together

  6. Pronombres Reflexive – Me había dormido ya. I had already fallen asleep. DOP – Jorge lo había escrito ya. Jorge had already written it. IDOP – Te habíamos enviado el email ya. We had already sent you the email. DOP and IDOP – Ellos (no)selos habían dado ya. They had (not) already given them to him.

  7. Infinitive haber – attach all pronouns Ellos comieron sin habernos notificado. They ate without having notified us. Carolina se fue sin haberme invitado. Carolina left without having invited me. Las alumnas pasaron el examen sin haberte pedido ayuda. The students passed the test without having requested help from you.
