What is a Tornado? • A localized and demolishing windstorm happening over land by a funnel-shaped cloud going toward the ground.
How are Tornadoes Produced • Tornadoes form when two masses of different temperatures and humidity meet. If the lower layers of the atmosphere are unstable, a strong upward movement of warmer air is formed. This starts to spiral as it rises, and intensifies.
Where and when do tornadoes occur? • They are located in these following states IL OK AR MO KA IN NB IO TX. You know where these places are, but do you know when the tornadoes occur? They occur during cloudy, stormy weather and descend from severe thunderstorms as rapidly-spinning white funnels of cloud.
How are tornadoes classified? • They are classified by the winds. That means that on a scale to measure the classification the wind determines howhigh, on the scale, the condition of the tornado.
Why are tornadoes considered severe weather? • That’s because they are the most dangerous weather condition. They can kill lots of people and ruin property. But thankfully they are restricted in their range. • Also the tornadoes can take off roofs from houses. That’s because the roof has high air pressure and the tornado has low air pressure and high air pressure all ways wants to get to low air pressure. So the makes the roof come off of the house.
Marble Questions • Ifyou do not have air pressure will it effect the tornado and why? • How is this related to Bernoulli's principle?
