We can feel awkward talking about money.... Jesus talked more about money than any other subject - other than the Kingdom of God. . When teaching on faithfulness he talks about money (the owner entrusts talents of money to his servants) When teaching about loving one's neighbour he talks about money (the Good Samaritan gave the inn keeper enough money to look after the injured man for a number of weeks)When teaching on God's heart for the lost he talks about money (the woman who lost then found her precious coin).

    3. Jesus talked more about money than any other subject - other than the Kingdom of God

When teaching on faithfulness he talks about money (the owner entrusts talents of money to his servants) When teaching about loving one’s neighbour he talks about money (the Good Samaritan gave the inn keeper enough money to look after the injured man for a number of weeks) When teaching on God’s heart for the lost he talks about money – (the woman who lost then found her precious coin)

When teaching on forgiveness he talks about money (money owed to a money lender) When teaching on the nature of God he talks about money (employer paying workers recruited late in the day) When teaching on sacrifice he talks about money (the widow putting her coins in the offering) When teaching on planning he talks about money (before building a tower work out the finances)

    6. When teaching about the Kingdom of God he talks about money (the pearl merchant sold everything he had to buy the pearl of great price) When teaching on motives he talks about money (giving in a showy way for the approval of men) When challenging the Pharisees on their misplaced worship he talks about money (you can’t worship God and love money) When talking about greed he talks about money (the rich fool who lost his life as he filled his barns)

When talking about salvation he talks about money (the rich young ruler giving his wealth away to follow him) When talking about reward in heaven verses comfort now, he talks about money When talking about what thwarts growth in our lives he talks about money (seed choked by riches) When talking about trusting God he talks about money (don’t worry, but seek first the kingdom of God)

    8. Why does Jesus talk so much about money?

    9. Because our use of money tells us something about our hearts...

    10. As we begin to think about our use of money... Why is giving good for me? How much should I give away? What does it mean to give ‘generously’? Is ‘generosity’ something I can learn? Suppose I’m in debt or not in control of my income - what then?
