Characteristics of 8 to 12-Year Olds • Physical • Physical involvement is important • Hands-on activities reinforce learning • Youth are developing coordination
Characteristics of 8 to 12-Year Olds • Social • Group activities are best • Activities need to give youth choices and let them make decisions • Peer influence and acceptance by groups becomes more important
