Proposed Goal of Project Matrix • “The purpose of this matrix of projects is to reflect the Chehalis River Basin Flood Authority’s priorities to provide flood relief and protection in the basin.”
Project Matrix • Projects sorted into nine different sections • Floodplain Protection (includes retention, and levees/dikes • Reduction of Damage to Existing Structures • Bank Stabilization • Conveyance Capacity • Planning/Implementing and Data Collection • Education and Public Information • Emergency Response and Preparedness • Potential Flood Projects with Ecological Opportunities (includes correcting barrier culverts) • Programmatic Solutions-i.e. regulation changes, tax breaks
Project Matrix • Projects may be grouped under a sub heading (“Retention Projects” or “Levees and Dikes” under Floodplain Protection) • In these cases, the project heading is numbered following the project numbering sequence. • Projects under the heading are numbered in Roman Numerals • Matrix of projects is not prioritized • Meant to serve as a baseline of projects for potential future funding • Served as source material for 2012 legislative jobs package
