  1. Education Subcommittee 04/09/12 Spring Meeting

  2. EdSC Mission • To provide students and educators access to activities and information that highlight aerospace structures and engineering

  3. We have to date 10 intent submissions There are 17 volunteers that I have willing to review That would give us 3 reviews per submission Fulfills review requirement currently EdSC Output to Date

  4. Proposed Short Term Future Objective • Next years design competition – ideas? • At future SDM/ASM meetings have a student outreach event • Members of TC travel to a school • A STEM event or project is completed at the school with the students • Next up Maryland

  5. Overview of the Dynamics TC Outreach Day of event • Overview presentation, introductions, and a couple videos • Breakout 4 sessions 20 minutes each of videos, demonstrations (some hands on), and Q&A session • Snack receptions where we all mingle, students can ask questions, we can pass out swag, group photo, etc.

  6. Roadmap to successful outreach • Most importantly is finding a school and a motivated teacher! • Each outreach can be different depending on the school and teacher • Presentation showing a little of what we do • Collect good videos that excite the students • Come up with some hands on demonstrations 10 minutes to complete • Maybe a couple longer ones

  7. Proposed Long Term Future Objectives • Ideas? I have some but I would like yours too • Come see me during the working sessions • I am here to implement as many learning resources that I can at the direction of the myself, the subcommittee, and the TC
