Pros and Cons • Pros • Quickly receive and organize individual student feedback • Write questions ahead of time or “on the fly” • With “Self-Paced” Questions, students can work at their own pace • PowerPoint Users – you don’t have to rewrite lessons you are already using • Upgrade to PowerPoint 2007

5. Pros and Cons • Cons • Self-Paced Questions are limited to a certain number of characters • Math-Type • Not currently linked with DataWise – they are working on this, should be ready by Fall/Winter 2011

6. Identifying Students There are 2 Main Options: • Have a sign-out sheet each student marks which responder they have • Rename responders at the beginning of class

7. Rename Responders From the Dashboard, click • Configure • Register Devices • ActivExpressions • Rename • Rename Devices by Student

8. Express Poll • This can be done “on the fly” or using questions written into PowerPoints • In ActivInspire, click the ExpressPoll icon

15. Self-Paced Questions • Insert • Questions • Type in Questions • Copy/Paste from Word • Import from ExamView – must create in ExamView and Export to “CPS” or “xml” • Adjust Time Limit (if desired) • Click Done • Click Play to begin:
