Prague • The Capital • The largest city • 1.2 million people reside in Prague, 1.9 million are in the metropolitan area. • The city was founded in 885 C.E. • Home to the largest castle in the world. • Much of the Czech Republics’ industry is centered in and around Prague. • A continental climate with warm summers and cold winters.
Slovakia Facts • Became a member of the European Union in 2004. • Officially became a country on January 1, 1993 after the disbandment of Czechoslovakia created two separate countries: The Czech Republic and Slovakia. • 5.4 million people reside in Slovakia. • Slovakia uses the Euro for their form of currency. • More mountainous than The Czech Republic and also has lower incomes.
