2. A. PURPOSE The purpose of this project is to evaluate how different capitalist systems cope with the current crisis and to see what kind of measures are employed to ease the burden and help revitalizing the economy.

3. B. COUNTRIES Our research will focus on the following economies: • USA, UK, Germany, France and South-Eastern European countries (Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro, BIH

4. C. PLAN OF WORK We will: • Describe the basic characteristics of each county before the crisis. • Describe how and when the crisis is affecting the observed economy • Try to see what kind of measures are observed economies taking in order to tackle the crisis.

14. D. HOW TO MONITOR So far there has not been any in dept analysis of the crisis and its effect on the economies so in conducting our analysis we will need to be quite innovative. We will need to relay mainly on the magazines, newspapers and onto the web pages of institutions that are monitoring and analyzing the crisis, with the exception of point C.1. where we will be able to use also books on the comparative economics.

GRADING Your grade will be based as follows: • second draft of the paper that is due on 16th of April and presentation on May 6th: 30% of final grade • progress reports end of June: 10% of final grade • progress reports beginning of September: 15% of final grade and • final version of the paper (15th of October): 45% of final grade.
