  1. The hog facts By Courtney Brown.

  2. History on hogs • There are currently 23 species of hog in the world • The ancestors of the hog go back to the ice age. • Columbus in 1493 brought eight hogs to the west indies.

  3. Hogs in general • Hogs are like pigs…much uglier but still like pigs. • They can be very aggressive when you mess with them. • The body of the wild hog is compact;the head is large, the legs relativly short. • The fur consist of mainly hard bristles and usually finer fur. • The color usually varies from light gray to dark brown.

  4. Hog interview. • I recently interviewed a zoooligist from the San Antonio zoo. • Here are some questions and responses about hogs. • Q) Do you suggest going anywhere near wild hogs? • Never go anywhere near wild hogs. They can be very dangerous. I suggest if you have any hogs living on your property shoot them or call someone to help. • Q) Who do you call to get rid of hogs on your property? • A) I personally do not know if there is a specific name for a hog trapper but there are numbers on the internet that you can call.

  5. Explaining new dicoveries. • “ The spiegel report mentions that German governments paymant compensating hunters for lost income due to radioactive wild boar. The meat has quadrupled since 2007. Last year alone, $550,000 was paid to hunters who found themselves with inedible boar meat, due to its radioactivity. The hunters would have otherwise sold the meat, but it was deemed unfit for human consumption. “ • The above paragraph was taken from discoverynews.com

  6. Dicovery does not affect my research area. • These radioactive hogs are normally found in Germany while I am researching wild hogs in America.

  7. Making it easier • This new dicovery has helped me to understand that some animals habitats are being taken or corrupted.

  8. Applies to my life • The reasearch I have done on wild hogs will help me because I show pigs in • 4-h

  9. Future developments • In the future hogs will breed to make new species. This will result in he hog species to spread.

  10. Advantages • Knowing about hogs helps me in my 4-h projects and in my hunting activities.

  11. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! • THE END!!!!!!!!
