  15. Guidelines and Ethics Important Policies for participants in the Recruiting Program
  16. Guidelines and Ethics You are eligible to apply for full-time employment opportunities in LanternLinkfor 2 full semesters – typically Fall and Spring of Senior year. You may apply for internships and view information on all opportunities during your entire time at Bryn Mawr. ** Have your resume reviewed by a career counselor before uploading and applying for positions in LanternLink or SLAC **
  17. Guidelines and Ethics Scheduling your On-Campus Interview You should never cancel or reschedule an interview with insufficient time. Take into consideration your academic and social calendarsbefore signing up to interview. Rescheduling your interview time after you sign up can occur only in emergencies. You are permitted to reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. You can do so by contacting CPD. You are permitted to cancel an On-Campus Interview no later than 12:00pm on the previous day. In case of emergency, call CPD immediately. Same day cancellations and no-shows require an apology letter to the recruiter. You could lose your Recruiting Program privileges for up to one month. Contact CPD if this situation applies to you.
  18. Guidelines and Ethics Before the On-Campus Interview Be prepared as possible – don’t try to “wing it” Research the employer online though their website, online news services, industry sites, etc. Attend information sessions when offered Prepare your interview attire Polish your interview skills - take advantage of upcoming mock interview programs
  19. Guidelines and Ethics During your On-Campus Interview Day Arrive 10 minutes early for all interviews COME TO THE CORRECT CAREER OFFICE. Location details are available on the Calendar in LanternLink. On-campus interviews can take place at Bryn Mawr, Haverford or Swarthmore Colleges. Bring additional copies of your resume.
  20. Guidelines and Ethics Interview Etiquette Dress appropriately for all interviews. Generally, you should wear business attire. When in doubt, ask Career and Professional Development staff. Send thank you notes within 24 hours of the interview. Ask for the recruiter’s business card. Pay attention to detail in your correspondence. Careless thank you notes can do more harm than good. Treat employer lunches and dinners as interview settings. We highly recommend avoiding alcohol even if you are over 21in age.
  21. Guidelines and Ethics Accepting an Offer and Avoiding Breach of Ethics Once you accept an offer of employment, fellowship or internship (through Career and Professional Development or otherwise), you should NOT engage in additional interview or recruiting activities. Accepting multiple offers, pursuing other offers after accepting one and reneging of a previously accepted offer is unethical. Students engaging in these activities will immediately lose their recruiting program privileges. Any student acting inappropriately toward an employer will be required to write them a letter of apology. If such activities in any way jeopardize opportunities for other students, this will be considered a breach of the Honor Code.
