1. What’s Happening in Early Childhood?August 26-29, 2013 Mrs. GoodwinTheme: Friends laura.goodwin@raypec.org What’s going on in the classroom? Important Information Happy Monday! Mrs. Rains and I look forward to another great week with your child! This week we will be talking about friends and learning each other’s names. The books this week are: Will I Have a Friend? By Miriam Cohen, A Book of Friends by Dave Ross and What Are Friends For? We will practice singing the alphabet (to the tune of Mary Had a Little Lamb), and practice following directions. For math we will focus on the square and triangle. We will have a square snack on Mon. and Tues. and Thurs. we would like every child to bring in a baggie of food from the approved snack list to share with the class. We will make a “friendship mix”. This week the art center will be introduded. We will do “clapping hands” and “here’s bunny” in conscious discipline. Important Dates: NO SCHOOL- Aug. 30 – PD NO SCHOOL – Sept. 2 –holiday Early Release – Sept. 11 Meet Me in the Park – Sept. 18 Picture Day – Sept. 20 Please use this sheet each day to make any comments and send back in your child’s folder. The folder will be checked at the beginning of each class. You may also send an email to the above email address or call the Raymore Elementary office at 892-1925.
