HP Slovakia brief history • HP operates at Slovak market since year 1967. • At that time all the activities were driven from Wien • In year 1979 a branch in ČSSR was founded. • In year 1993 Digital Equipment Slovakia, s.r.o. was founded. • In 1998 as a result of global merger between Compaq Computer a Digital Equipment also the Slovak branches were merged. • Compaq Computer Slovakia, s.r.o. was the result of that merger in Slovakia • HP branch in Slovakia was transformed to independent legal subject Hewlett-Packard Slovakia, s.r.o. in May 2000 • In February 2003 another global merger between HP and Compaq resulted in the merger of Hewlett-Packard Slovakia, s.r.o. and Compaq Computer Slovakia s.r.o.
HP operation centers Hewlett-Packard has 105 operation centers internationally, employing over 65,000 IT specialists. The firm has opened another two centers in Bratislava in 2003. • European IT Operations Center – EITOC - is a global organization, providing 24x7 Incident detection, resolution, elevation and escalation for all technology domains. • EMEA Application Management Center - as the name itself indicates this is an applications service center caring for customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
