Administrative Items: Must complete: • Parking pass request (free parking) • - complete form tonight and return to Kira • no designated parking for faculty/staff, can park in any non-designated zone • Safety • complete online readings, review with supervisor, return form to Kira • FERPA • complete tutorial with Marty Beidler • Records Retention Requirements (Faculty Only) • - Part-time faculty: A copy of final grades must be turned in to Kira with student name and OSU ID • - Instructors duty to retain any exams or papers not returned to students for one term after completion, two terms for a Summer course • ONID email sign-up • - preferred email to communicate with students • - must have in order to use Blackboard and Online Services • Handbook – read thoroughly, ask if any questions

Classroom Items: • Code Sheet = important codes for copier, computer, etc. • keep with you • do not give out information to students • Classroom equipment instructions • tutorials can be done with Kira (optional tonight) • OSU Syllabus requirements: http://oregonstate.edu/ap/curriculum/policies/S_syllabus.html • copy must be given to Program Lead • Final exam schedule • current schedule here: http://www.osucascades.edu/advising/class_schedules • follow as closely as possible, please ask if questions • see handbook for Finals Week Policies

Classroom Items continued…. • Entering grades and grade policy • grades must be entered by you by specified date in Online Services; watch your email for reminders • need OSU ID and GAP or ONID username and password • View class lists in Online Services also • Blackboard Information • Sources for “How to”: handouts, program leads, websites, OSU Helpdesk • H1N1 – be sure you know how to use Blackboard and be flexible with students, if you or a student is sick. You can also communicate through email • Student Evaluations of Teaching • Starting Fall 2011, will be online

Classroom Items continued…. • Campus closures will be determined by 6am the day of and will be posted on our website and COCC’s website • In case of an emergency, the evacuation meeting site is in the Barber Library Parking Lot • During an emergency situation, faculty is not automatically “in charge” and determines whether students stay or leave the classroom or building. • No weapons are allowed on campus. A concealed weapons permit does not allow an individual to possess any kind of weapon.

  7. Pay Day Information • Payday is once per month, on the last working day of the month. • The first check will be a manual check…..and it may be late. • Direct deposit will not be active for the first check, and perhaps not for the second check either. • Instructor salary is based on the working days in a month. Therefore, if the Fall term contract starts on 9/16, the September paycheck is for roughly ½ month. If you work 9 days in the Summer term, partially in June and partially in July, you will get paid on the respective payday for the working days in each month, again the first check will be late. • Payroll/HR contact: Susan Jett, susan.jett@osucascades.edu, 541-322-3106
