Fall 2014 Data Review Grades 3-8 and High School
All dates are tentative. Timeline for Reporting “SEA” Start Early for Accuracy
Understanding the process At the close of QC Data Review, students remaining in SDRR without approved non-participation or test scores are assigned lowest score/performance level.
Accountability Rules • Tested Every student enrolled on the first day of the 5-day spring summative test window must be tested for participation rate purposes. • Accountable Accountability determined by full academic year (any 100 instructional days of enrollment). The first day of the 5-day spring summative test window is included in the 100 day count.
100-Day reminder The first day of K-PREP five-day spring summative window (in the last 14 instructional days of the district calendar) is the point in time where the 100 days of enrollment (full academic year) is determined. April-June K-PREP (Pearson) 1st day of the 5-day Summative Test Window Across Year K-PREP EOC Grade 12 CCR September EXPLORE PLAN March ACT Nov-Dec April-May Alternate K-PREP
Data Available in SDRR • Roster information has been loaded and matched with test vendor data. • For example, if a response book was submitted for a student to the vendor and the student was not on your roster, then the student was added to your roster by KDE. • Rosters must match vendor information. • Changes made during the roster window are reflected in data review. • Quality Control Data Review is your opportunity to review and verify this data before it is publicly released. • No scores are in SDRR, except CCR.
Prioritizing Your Data Review Step 1 Accountability (Priority One) • Confirm your 100 day students that will contribute to your district or school accountability. • Indicate the correct accountability for any non-100 day students that should be removed from your accountability. • Resolve issues of students without test results. Step 2 Demographics (Priority Two) • Check free/reduced lunch and students with disability status (IEP), since these have potential to change over time. • Confirm ethnicity and race categories. • Tested school and grade cannot be changed, except by request to KDE. School and districts may review all available student information.

High School reminders • Grade 8 EOC students tested in 2012-13 are now included in their accountable high school’s student listing. • CCR is based on G-Codes in Infinite Campus (IC). • Changes to G-Codes are made in IC and an e-mail sent to KDE Assessment. • Other issues and questions with CCR, please e-mail • kdeassessment@education.ky.gov
Data Review Trainings • Data Review Process (all grades) • Accessing and Using SDRR (all grades) • CCR and Cohort (high school) Manuals and PowerPoints are available from the KDE website on the Data Release Resources page. The three recorded trainings are listed to the right. OAA strongly recommends viewing the trainings and downloading the manuals before beginning the QC Data Review.
