  3. FOCUS: YEAR 6 • Mixed ability classes, except for Maths • Work ethos – finishing Key Stage 2 well • INCAS baseline assessments • Develop exam technique (Exams in November and June) • Personal tutor system • Saturday morning school • Continuation scholarships

  4. FOCUS: YEAR 7 • Increased academic expectation • Commence ISEB Common Entrance syllabus • MidYIS baseline assessments • Communication with personal tutor • Development of leadership skills • Selection of senior school

  5. FOCUS: YEAR 8 • Intensity and academic rigour • Independent learner • Only 2 terms of syllabus teaching • Scholarship and CE exams taken • More opportunities for leadership • Everything ‘comes together’ – culmination of Prep school career

  6. REPORTING • Parent meetings • Half-termly reports in Michaelmas term • Written reports at end of every term - Lent • more brief • Teacher comments • Exam % (where applicable) • Attainment and effort grade

  7. SENIOR SCHOOLS • Registration (2) • Interviews • Routes - CE, Scholarship or entrance exam • CE pass marks (50-70% range) • Scholarships (joint decisions) • Importantly - the correct school for your child! • Where to turn to for advice?
