Greater London Volunteering • Regional support body for volunteering across 33 boroughs of Greater London • Members include Volunteer Centres and Volunteer Development Agencies (YouthNet, TimeBank, MBF, LVSC) • Core members offer support and brokerage services to over 50,000 volunteers and 9,000 organisations • GLV supports and works with over 30 non-member partners through forums and initiatives • Influence, Communicate, Capacity-build, Coordinate London’s leading voice for volunteering

Theme 1: Personal Best – an appropriately designed and funded pre-volunteer programme, targeted at the unemployed and economically inactive • Guarantees participants interview for official volunteer programme • 10% target of involvement in London 2012 • Best models involve equal voluntary and public sector partnerships • 3rd sector coordinator at GLV (reach, support, delivery) London’s leading voice for volunteering

Theme 3: Extend the volunteer base with particular reference to increasing availability for people and communities who do not normally volunteer or who volunteer through more informal channels • Wave of Friendship volunteer exchange • Host City Volunteers Programme scoping • Inspired by projects review • 2012 related projects: London Youth work with youth clubs, LDA sports official bursary scheme, London Councils funded local activities (and GLV preparation volunteering pilot) • Changing Places (LOCOG) London’s leading voice for volunteering
Theme 4: Raise awareness amongst employers of the benefits of volunteering for employeesin order that employers facilitate Games time volunteering and increase their commitment to employee volunteering as a whole • Linking to East London Business Alliance (ELBA) and London 2020 activities • City Hall employer-supported volunteering policy and recruitment fair London’s leading voice for volunteering
