Minutes Minutes 24 BSF Steering Committee
BSF - Interim Arrangement (BSF-IA) implementation period from 1 July 2010 to 31 December 2011(18 M) • Call for proposals for two categories of projects: • Continuation of current health projects (CATEGORY 2) • New projects in 3 sectors (CATEGORY 1) • Proposals for continuation of PH projects evaluated first to allow PH services to continue without interruption BSF-IA PH Cost extensions
PH Priorities for BSF-IA • Continued provision of Basic Package of Health Services within the 25 Counties currently supported by the BSF, ensuring at least 50% access; • Provision of the BPHS to 10-17 new counties within Southern Sudan, increasing to 50% by the end of the 18 month funding cycle; • Support in-service and formal training of health workers within PHCCs and PHCUs (as currently provided under the BSF); • Support the MoH in strengthening County Health Departments and community capacities for supervision of health services (to be specified in conjunction with MoH). • Increase the awareness of communities on basic health, to create demand of the communities to use the health services available • Strengthening of Governance structures through capacity building and harmonization of the different interventions in the health sector through different funding mechanisms.
BSF Secretariat received 74 Expressions of Interest. -Primary Education: 34 -Primary Health: 23 -Water & Sanitation: 17 • 41 EoIs shortlisted for full proposals as follows: -Primary Education: 18 (received 17 proposals) -Primary Health: 13 (received 12 proposals -Water & Sanitation: 10 (received 8 proposals) CATEGORY 1 : New proposals
