Mission To develop individualized educational pathways for students who fall into any of these categories: • Considering an academic career (any specialty) involving teaching and research • Attracted to subspecialty careers in which research will play a part • Enjoyed their STTP summer research project, but have not had a chance to continue • Remain actively engaged in research

Typical Careers: • All subspecialties of Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, or Pathology • Academic focus on clinical, translational or basic research • Clinical practice in a Medical, Pediatric or Surgical Subspecialty
Mentoring: Following a personal interview with Dr Schiller (or Dr Satou) mentors are individually matched with each student at College enrollment. Mentors guide: • Fourth-year course selection • Design of individual electives • Residency Application

The Pathophysiologic Approach • Ideal for evaluating problems in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, but also used in developing differential diagnoses in Surgical Subspecialties and Pathology • Consolidates understanding of disease processes • Allows for developing a research approach
