  4. Ancient Egypt (3200 B.C. to 30 B.C.) • Country in Africa • Nile River • Papyrus (paper) • Pyramids • Hieroglyphics (picture writing) • Polytheistic (many gods)

  5. Ancient Rome (753 B.C.-A.D. 476) • Greatest empire in history • Small farming community • Major influence on Western civilization • Language is based on French, Italian, Spanish etc.
