History of U of M-D • The University of Michigan-Dearborn has been going strong and committed to providing excellent educational opportunities with acknowledgment to what is needed in Michigan. • Established in 1959 as a gift from the Ford Motor Company. • The University of Michigan-Dearborn has developed into a university offering lots of undergraduate and professional degrees in the liberal arts and sciences, engineering, management, education and public administration! • In the future U of M-D plans to expand every year.
Housing at U of M-D • At the actual University of Michigan, they have dorms, however at the Dearborn campus they do not. • Although they do not have dorms an apartment complex called “The Union” opened up last year. • The 231,000 square foot apartment complex is located directly across Evergreen Road from our main campus.
Tuition of U of M-D As you can see, the tuition at the University of Michigan-Dearborn is far less than say tuition at it’s mother university. However, the tuition of U of M-D is still more than tuition at Schoolcraft or even Eastern. Wherever you go to college, it’ll for sure cost you quite some change.
Student Organizations of U of M-D • They are over 100 student organizations at the University. • All organizations range in size, type and messages of the group itself. • Many of the organizations are fraternities and sororities but also include clubs such as the American Red Cross club and Smiles Against Cancer organization. • I plan on going to U of M-D, so this many clubs to choose from will be an awesome set of options!
Recognition of U of M-D • Seventh best master’s-level public university in the Midwest (2014 edition of U.S. News & World Report “America’s Best Colleges.”) • Rated among the top undergraduate engineering programs in the country (2014 U.S. News & World Report) • Recognized as a best business school (2014 U.S. News & World Report and Princeton Review) • College of Education, Health, and Human Services recognized for “exemplary teacher-preparation” program by the Michigan Department of Education
