  20. Summer Practice • No academic credit • Is a degree requirement: “a minimum of at least six weeks of approved experience is required for graduation” • Should be completed before the senior year for admission to senior PETE classes • Multiple internships encouraged New Student Orientation

  22. Academic Probation • A CBK GPR ≥ 2.75 is expected • 27 credit hours -> 74.25 grade points • 24 credit hours -> 66.0 grade points • If CBK GPR < 2.75 • We can restrict and limit subsequent enrollment • Must make B’s & A’s to catch up New Student Orientation

Academic Probation Example • Assumed semester performance ENGL 104 C 3x2 = 6 CBK GPR ENGR 111 A 2x4 = 8 26/13 = 2.0 MATH 151 C 4x2 = 8 2.75 Variance PHYS 218 D 4x1 = 4 is -9.75 • Academic probation: • Repeat PHYS 218 and make a B • Reduces 2.75 Variance to –1.75 (best effort used for CBK calculation) New Student Orientation

Math Placement Examination – MATH 151 • Score of 22 or higher on MPE, or credit for MATH 150 is prerequisite to MATH 151 • MATH 151 is corequisite for PHYS 218 and ENGR 111 • If you have less than 22 on MPE you have several options • Improve MPE score (30 day wait period) • Self Study • For example, Schaum’s study guides for College Algebra, Trigonometry, Precalculus • PPP (Personalized Precalculus Program) • Information was provided from MPE web site • Complete MATH 150 at TAMU or provide Transfer by Equivalency credit (TCCNS course MATH 2412) New Student Orientation
