  3. By 8:44 on the morning of 6th June 1944 there has already been fierce fighting for over 2 hours. Thousands are dead or wounded – but the battle for Europe has only just started.

  4. 11,590 aircraft + crews 6,939 ships + crews Over 425,000 men from both sides, killed, wounded or missing.

  5. Operation; Overlord – Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, Juno Beach, Sword Beach and Gold Beach
