What Is • Are you signed up with the Division of Developmental Disabilities? Are you on the Medicaid Waiver? If not, ask you DDD case manager to be on the waiver data base. You must need and ask for a service. • King County and the State of Washington supports school-to-work. • Families are networking to create housing options. • Specialized and normalized recreation and community classes and events are available • Life is Long and the Couch Gets Worn Out Washington Initiative for Supported Employment www.gowise.org
Age 18 • Your child becomes their own guardian or you establish full guardianship or you establish partial guardianship. • Apply for Social Security. Find out how to complete the application correctly. Attend a family training workshop through the Arc of King County or call an information and referral staff person at the Arc, 206-364-3635.
