  5. Does purpose matter? For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord, But His secret counsel is with the upright. The curse of the Lord is on the house of the wicked, But He blesses the home of the just. Surely He scorns the scornful, But gives grace to the humble. The wise shall inherit glory, But shame shall be the legacy of fools. Proverbs 3:32-35 (NKJV)

  6. Does purpose matter? Good understanding gains favor, But the way of the unfaithful is hard. Proverbs 13:15 (NKJV) Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; But he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him. Psalms 32:10 (NKJV)

You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously"? But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.“ James 4:1-6 (NKJV)

In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you. They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. 1 Peter 4:3-5 (NKJV)
