COORDINATIVE BODY FOR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY - Establishing – 24.04.2007 • composed of the representatives from Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Culture, State Market Inspectorate, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Information Society, Customs Administration, Ministry of Justice, State Office of Industrial Property, Public Revenue Office and the Secretariat for European Integrations.

  3. COPMETENCIES-CBIP • coordinated approach in the protection of the rights in the market • undertakes activities directed to creation of appropriate intellectual property rights protection policy • propose measures for the further improvement of the system of enforcement of the IP rights

  4. ACTIVITIES OF CBIP • continually reports to the Government • results presented through public media and at the SOIP web- site www.ippo.gov.mk

  5. STATISTICS • until 26.04.07 to 31.10.08 - realized actions under 240 subjects - seized 134664pirated and 68.837 counterfeited items - seized 16 cd/dvd burners and 42 machines - submitted 157 applications for initiating misdemeanour procedure, 57 criminal procedures and 33 stores are closed. • CBIP Software

On 12.12.2007 were destroyedconfiscated pirated and counterfeited goods seizured in 2007 based on a court decision by coordinative actions of CBIP (53.105 pirated and counterfeited goods were destroyed (10.000 boxes of cigarettes, 500 l of alcohol, 15 kg of tobacco, 10.000 tablets and creams, 60 cigars est.) DESTROING

  9. On 23.04.2008were destroyed33.000pirated and counterfeited goods, 160.000 boxes of cigarettes and 10.000 l of alcohol.

  10. FUTURE PLANS • Destruction of seized items – two times in year (26.04 and 12.12) • Conditions, locations and unification of the procedure for destruction of the seized items. • Extension of the activities against software piracy • Project for raising public awareness
