Recruitment • Designate one officer to oversee recruitment • Be sure that TMA and AMA Medical Student Section Coordinators know which officer has been designated • Before you leave today, set realistic goals for recruitment • You CAN recruit 100% of your incoming class for TMA!
Recruitment • Recruitment Letter • Make sure you have a letter prepared to be sent out to incoming first years prior to orientation • Most schools have an orientation packet that is sent out…if possible have your letter included in that packet • Sample letters in your leadership manual
Recruitment • Recruitment Events • Remember, the earlier the better • Begin securing a date during orientation week at your school for a TMA event • Contact the TMA coordinator for the most current flyers and brochures available • As soon as you know the number of incoming first year students, request incentive gifts and other materials
Recruitment • Applications • Paper applications are easier to track • Use the RED membership application only • Students can join both TMA and AMA via the RED application, that is not the case for the PURPLE one • For students who have joined AMA, TMA will forward these applications to the AMA • Do NOT send applications directly to AMA, please send all applications to Christina
