  7. 23rd SOFE (w/ 36th ICOPS) Special Issue of Transactions on Plasma Science • First time ever, both proceedings and peer review • All authors will be invited (after submitting proceedings) • Page charges will be waived • Guest Editor: David Ruzic (U. Illinois) • Schedule • June 1-5, 2009  authors submit papers to the • conference record • June 29, 2009  journal submission deadline • Sept. 1, 2009 peer reviews due • Dec. 1, 2009 revised manuscripts due • Feb. 2010 journal publication

Fusion Technology Awards • Awards chair: Phil Heitzenroeder • Original deadline Jan 1,extended to Feb 28 • Winner for 2008-09 has been selected, will be presented at the awards banquet • $3000 check, plaque and travel expenses • Student Best Paper Award (17 abstracts) • Pre-screening coordinated by awards chair • Presentations and selection during FTC meeting • Plaque and $500 presented at awards banquet

  9. 24th SOFE (w/ 38th ICOPS) • Chair: Charles Neumeyer • 25-30 June 2011, Co-located with ICOPS • Hyatt Regency McCormick Place Hotel, Chicago • Staff participation in the 23rd SOFE and 36th ICOPS
