Goal • Technology transfer of research results to audiences within the Tallapoosa River basin • Provide science-based information that may be used for: • planning • resource development • policy • environmental conservation and restoration • Others?

Outreach Projects • State of the Watershed Conference • Classroom Outreach Package • Stormwater, Drinking Water Outreach Package • Website and Public Relations • Tool Box Applications
Classroom Outreach Projects • Utilize the EnviroScape, a watershed model, to offer hands-on learning related to land use impacts on water quality, groundwater and riparian zones. Target audiences are educators and their students.
Classroom Outreach Package • Success Story - Alexander City • Living Streams • Water Festival • Forest in the Classroom, Classroom in the Forest
Living Streams • All 5th graders in Tallapoosa County and Radney Elementary School • 537 students total this year plus teachers and volunteers • Program was also conducted last year • Funded by the Clean Water Partnership, Middle Tallapoosa
Outreach Package – Drinking Water, Stormwater • Develop technical, user-friendly education and outreach materials • Brochures, web-based tools, trainings • Local government representatives, water managers, extension agents, educators and the general public
