Equipment Grant Eligibility • Must be a 501c3 organization • Located in one of the following 16 counties: • Anson, Bladen, Columbus, Cumberland, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery, Randolph, Richmond, Robeson, Rockingham, Scotland, Stokes, Surry • Congregation either currently certified and seeking to attain higher certification or seeking to attain initial certification.
Expected Results • Increase access to healthy, local food: • For congregants • For targeted population within the community • The most competitive proposals will be able to demonstrate both a high frequency and duration of access as well as be able to connect the equipment to an increased capacity to provide that access
Examples • Commercial grade refrigerator or freezer to store fresh produce • Materials to start or expand a church/community garden • Knives, cutting boards, pots and pans to upgrade kitchen for scratch cooking • Cart and supplies for cooking demonstrations
Grant Guidelines/important dates • Grant size: up to $5,000 • One-phase on-line application process • Due March 25 by 5:00 p.m. • Week of April 22: grant selection announced • May 8: 11:00 a.m. webinar for all new grantees • “Grantee Communications, Results and Reporting”
