Introduction & Background • Video Presence(VP) System • Concept of presence • Psychological sense of “being there” in environment based on technologically founded immersive base • Three types of presence • Personal presence • The extent to which a person feels part of the environment • Social presence • The extent to which others(human and non-human) exist in the environment • Environmental presence • The extent to which the environment acknowledges and interacts with the participants • Video Presence • Provide sense of presence by sharing multiple high-quality media • Objective • Develop a system and software for video presence • Construct a realistic collaboration environment
