Certification Cards Certificates are available in 2 formats Either is proof of certification Individual Certifications Card for each module Prints all modules on 8.5 x11 Cards vs. 8.5x11 Pages Certificates are available in 2 formats; either is proof of certification: 8 ˝ x 11” Certification; and, Traditional wallet cards Individual Certifications - In the past when an AP submitted a course record form to the chapter, students would receive one or two wallet card certifications for the component and it appeared on the certifications Example: CPR AED/Adult was produced on one card. The new LMS prints each of the certifications individually. Using this example above 2 cards would be produced. 8 ˝ x 11” self printed certifications will print one page that lists all certifications. For example First Aid/CPR/AED would print on 1 sheet Cards vs. 8.5x11 Pages AP’s using SABA will have the ability to print their own certification which will be an 8.5x11 page. Leverage the American Red Cross Learning Center - The Process Submit the course record through the American Red Cross Learning Center Payment is required at the time of submission Credit Card Course record can be submitted to the chapter via email or mail. Nationally Recognized Instructor Certification Instructors will be certified (authorized) in all Red Cross units (chapters and overseas Service to Armed Forces stations) Extending certifications and transferring teaching records will no longer be required. Additionally, if an instructor certification (authorization) is withdrawn by one unit, it is withdrawn for all units. Note: Instructors should still contact your local chapter about teaching in its jurisdiction to receive any local policies and procedures. Instructors teaching for Authorized Providers will also be required to teach under a valid Authorized Provider agreement.

    14. Instructor Authorization / Reauthorization Authorization" will now be called “Certification". Instructors and Instructor Trainers are required to successfully complete an assessment. Note to instructor trainers: candidates who successfully complete an instructor course will be certified for two years from the instructor course completion date. Authorization" will now be called “Certification". The new LMS will automatically track the expiration date of your instructor certification(s) Ninety days before expiration, you will receive a notification by email with a link to a "Recertification Assessment." Instructors will be required to complete an online assessment in order to recertify. Instructors and Instructor Trainers are required to successfully complete an assessment for each of the certifications they hold with a grade of 80% or better. Instructors and Instructor Trainers are also still required to teach a course within their certification period. Upon successful completion of assessments, instructors will be automatically recertified and their instructor transcripts will be updated.     15. Instructor Authorization Extension All Instructor Authorizations will be extended -In order to accommodate the upcoming ECC Guidelines update Instructor certifications (authorizations) scheduled to expire prior to December 31, 2010 will be extended to December 31, 2011. It is anticipated that nearly all instructors will need to complete an update to the revised ECC guidelines before December 31, 2011. Beginning June 30, 2011, instructors expiring will be required to complete the revised recertification assessment process implemented in the American Red Cross Learning Center.

    16. Fee Structure – Self-service Course Record Entry and Payment    

    17. What You Should Know As the Authorized Provider only instructors who you designate as an instructor under your agreement will be able to submit course record forms for your organization. All instructors that have established themselves as current American Red Cross instructors will already have the role of CR Administrator. If an instructor has no affiliation with your organization. The instructor will not be able to submit course record forms to the chapter.

    18. Go Live Dates We will be asking Authorized Providers to begin using the system after they sign the new AP Agreement.     19. Where to go for Information Instructors Corner www.instructorsconer.org A live demo on how to use the American Red Cross Learning Center as an instructor is currently available. Once registered follow these directions: Click on “Instructor Tools”, then “American Red Cross Learning Center”. When the next page appears click on “American Red Cross Learning Center”. The next page will appear with a great deal of information that you should read at a later time. Located at the bottom of the page you will see, “Links to a job and demonstration are available”, click on “demonstration”. This will feature a step by step slide show on how to submit a course record to the chapter.

    20. How to Get Ready Update and sign new AP agreement. The new agreements will be mailed in February 2011. Review and received updates under the “Preparing and Getting Trained” tab on www.redcross.org.
