  2. The Cause For Our Indebtedness To The Church • When we are saved we are added to it. • Like the one leper in Jesus story, we must show our gratitude, which can only be done through the physical church on earth.

What Is Our Indebtedness To The Church? • The debt of commendation: • Patriots of this country have great praise for it, regardless of what others may think. • We must appreciate, esteem and commend the local church to which we belong. • Chronic complaining is not needed - 1 Cor. 10:10 • Paul leaves us and example

  4. What Is Our Indebtedness To The Church? • The debt of consecration: - Rom. 8:12-17 • Our influence is of great importance. • We should be aware that others are watching our recreation, business dealings, speech and more.

  5. What Is Our Indebtedness To The Church? • The debt of cooperation: • Just as sure as "membership has its privileges" so membership demands willingness to work. • Membership demands regular attendance. • Membership also demands generous financial support.

  6. Are We Willing To Pay Our Debt To The Church? • Some may think like this: • Let others pay my debt. • I will pay some but not all. We should pay our debt promptly and gladly - Rom 13:7-8

  7. Are We Willing To Pay Our Debt To The Church? • What kind of credit rating do we have with the Lord? • Ex. Trans Union, Equifax their records where credit rating is kept. • God has his book and he knows our attitude toward our debts to him and his church.

Are We Willing To Pay Our Debt To The Church? • The attitude of those who pay their debt to the church involves: • Appreciation for what God has done. • Honesty: to accept without paying our debt of gratitude is dishonest. • Love: We pay in proportion to our love. • Awareness: of the great work in which we are engaged
