Neighbourhood Renewal • Newcastle is one of 88 Local Authorities to receive Neighbourhood Renewal Fund money from central government • The money is given only if the local council works through a ‘Strategic Partnership’ and has an agreed plan to spend the money • £13.6 million between April 04 and March 06 • Split between three types of allocation • Area – Theme – Block Funds Kerry Corbett 6.9.04

Neighbourhood Renewal • The area allocation means that in the North and Outer West area there is £350,000 for the year 04/05 and £550,000 for 05/06. • The Small Grants programme has £500,000 for 04/05 and 05/06 • The Social Inclusion block fund has £650,000 for 04/05 and 05/06. • There is no carry over of money from one year to the next.
