  2. PEP Program Goal The Port Enrichment Program’s goal is to offer enrichment opportunities to all students, meeting the needs of our diverse population and providing ongoing learning experiences through the various components of our program.

  5. Staff Development • Conference with teachers to plan school wide enrichment • Serve as a resource person for materials and methods • Facilitate special programs and contests • Integration of technology

Staff DevelopmentFocus on Differentiation • Summer 2008 – Curriculum Project • Fall 2008 - Facilitated a workshop with representation from teachers in all 5 elementary schools • Library of differentiation resources in every PEP room • Provide relevant articles to teachers • Consult with individual teachers

Elementary PEP School Wide Enrichment • The PEP teacher works with all students (K-5), teaching enrichment units of study in the PEP room or the regular classroom. • Units of instruction may vary within each building, depending on the needs and interests of classroom teachers and students. • This component of the PEP program involves curriculum development and modeling of instruction. • The PEP teachers have an ongoing dialogue regarding selection of instructional materials, activities, and overall preparation for these units of study.

Entrance into the Core Group See PEP District Website for specific criteria http://schools.portnet.k12.ny.us/pep • All students are considered for the PEP Core Group program beginning in third grade • Criteria is the same in each elementary building • Process is ongoing as new data becomes available
