  7. Services and Resources Housing Options If you want to find housing through the university, you can choose to live in one of many Stevens leased housing locations. Stevens leases off-campus apartments in many buildings around Hoboken. For more information including costs and availability, please visit http://www.stevens.edu/sit/housing/housing-options If you want to find housing independently, you can work with a real estate company or an apartment listing service or check out the listings posted on http://www.stevens.edu/sit/housing/graduate/alternative-housing-list

Services and Resources Student Health Insurance • All students are automatically enrolled in a health insurance plan through the university. • Fee is added to your student bill automatically • Policy runs August 18, 2013 – August 18, 2014 • For more information, visit: http://www.universityhealthplans.com/intro/Stevens.html If you have private health insurance and you want to decline the health insurance from Stevens, you must fill out a waiver form and provide proof of insurance by September13th,2013 This form is available online: https://www.universityhealthplans.com/secure/waiver.cgi?school_id=136 Student Health Services staff can answer questions about U.S. health insurance.

Services and Resources Student Health Services • Student Health Center is free to all enrolled students • No appointment is necessary • Open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 9:00 am-4:00 pm and Thursdays 9:00am-7:00pm • Nurse on duty full-time, physicians available: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 1:00-4:00pm, Thursdays 4:00-7:00pm and Fridays 1:30-3:30pm • Submit your Student Health & Immunization Record here as soon as possible • Failure to do this can impact your enrollment!

Services and Resources International Student & Scholar Services • Responsible for all international student and scholar immigration-related matters, including the issuance and/or processing of: • Form I-20, F-1 visa • DS-2019, J-1 visa (students and scholars) • H-1B applications for temporary worker in a specialty occupation • University-sponsored LPR applications • Employment authorization documents • Provides educational workshops, information, and services in support of these regulations. 5th Floor of Howe Center Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00

Services and Resources Through My Stevens You Can: • View the Stevens course catalog and class schedules • Update your address information • Add and drop courses • Review your personal schedule • See your account balance and make payments • Check your financial aid status • See your grades when they are entered by faculty • View an unofficial transcript • Review your degree requirement progress

Services and Resources Stevens Email • All students have a Stevens e-mail address: Username@Stevens.edu • All communications from the university will be sent to this address • You must check the mail in this account and/or forward this account to another address • There is a storage limit, so you must delete messages regularly

Services and Resources Financial Aid – Part Time Students • Many Stevens graduate students are sponsored by their employers • We encourage you to check at your place of employment about tuition benefits. • Arrangements can be made to defer your bill until the end of the semester if your company does not make the payment at the beginning of the term. • If there are a number of employees from the same site enrolled in Stevens courses, a direct billing arrangement can be made between Stevens and the employer.

Services and Resources Financial Aid – Full Time Students • Full-time graduate students are eligible for scholarships and graduate assistantships • Assistantships offer students the opportunity to teach or conduct research with Stevens faculty members while offering tuition support and a stipend for living expenses • Students interested in assistantships should contact the Department in which they plan to study • Funding for many assistantships is made available by research grants secured by Stevens’ faculty

Services and Resources Registrar Office – International Students • An approved Study Plan is necessary prior to enrolling for the first time • Work with your advisor to establish a Study Plan • Once you’ve checked in with ISSS and have submitted your Study Plan, you can register for classes online through MyStevens • Important Dates • First day of classes: August26th, 2013 • Fall Add/Drop Deadline: September9th, 2013

Services and Resources Registrar Office – Domestic Students • Once you’ve received your acceptance letter, enroll on-line through MyStevens • Registration for classes in your first semester is permitted without a Study Plan, but • You must meet with your advisor to come up with an approved Study Plan by the end of your first semester • Only courses shown on your approved Study Plan will count towards your degree requirements • Important Dates • First day of classes: August26th, 2013 • Fall Add/Drop Deadline: September9th, 2013

  35. Services and Resources Parking in Hoboken Solid Green Signs – This side of the street is reserved for cars that have a Hoboken Resident Permit only. Solid White Signs – Cars with no permit, a Temporary Permit, or Hoboken Resident permits can park here, but cars without a permit can only park for 4 hours (citywide limit)
