Kapu • “Kapu was tireless.”pg. 20. • Personality characteristic • Kapu never seemed get tired.
The Artic Tundra • “The barren slope stretches for three hundred miles from the Brooks Range to the Artic Ocean, and for more than eight hundred miles from the Chukchi to the Beaufort Sea.”pg.6. • The tundra, not many people live there. Eskimos and animals live there together.
Terminal building • “The wheels struck the runway and the plane pulled up by a small wooden house on the tundra, the terminal building.”pg. 91. • A terminal is a place were plains land.
Village Of Kangik • “She could see the Village Of Kangik long before she got to it.”pg. 163. • The Village Of Kangik is a old village in the artic were many Eskimos live.
Problems One • The first problem is Miyax wants to run away from her husband Daniel. It was an arranged marriage, and she did not like him so she got a needle and thread some food and set off on her own into the tundra.
Problem Two • The second problem is Miyax gets lost and was running out of food. It was cold she tried to catch some food but could not. She watches a wolf pack hoping they would give her something to eat and take her in.
Problem Three • The third problem is it is time for the wolf pack to follow the caribou. Miyax is afraid she will not be able to keep up with them. She will have to leave them and be on her own again. Or will she?
Story Critique • This was a really good book, it also has some sad parts. I liked it because it has a good story line and has stuff about wolves, nature, and the way Eskimos live. • I think that people who like books about wolves and how they live togeather. If do Not like to hear about animals being killed you should not read this.
