Funding • Bond: 1992, 1995, 1999 and 2005 • SPLOST: 2001, 2011 • SPLOST/Bond: 1997 and 2006 (bond issued in 2007) • By 2019, the district will have only one outstanding bond issue. • The third option for funding is state monies. Using the 2014-19 Facilities Plan, FCS qualifies for $52,829,411. However, this does not • cover all needs.
$195 Million Bond Referendum • If the May 20, 2014 bond is APPROVED by voters: • Funds would be available fall, 2014 and work would begin on projects at existing schools continuing until 2018. • The financing for this bond is structured to not increase the bond debt millage rate as long as SPLOST is extended by voters. • If the May 20, 2014 bond is NOT APPROVED by voters the proposed projects, including improvements to existing schools, school safety, technology and growth may not be completed. • Projected 2018 Enrollment: 48,931
