  1. Homelessness is a sad fact of life in the United States, and one particularly acute for those who have served their country. In a bid to serve as advocates in this epidemic, the Seattle- based nonprofit organization WorldVeterans steps up with essential housing solutions for homeless veterans. It is our commitment to return full dignity and hope through the combined use of shelters, services, and interventions in communities where WorldVeterans operates. Addressing the Crisis with Transitional Housing Transitional housing is a crucial part of WorldVeterans' homelessness solution for my brothers and sisters who have served. Bridging the gap between refuge and permanence, this form of housing offers a secure foundation for veterans to take control of their lives. Veterans can stay in the transitional shelters for longer periods of time receiving a range of support services that promote self-sufficiency, usually with all basic necessities first covered. Services provided at the transitional housing facility include mental health counseling, treatment for substance abuse issues, job training, and assistance with obtaining VA benefits and services. Through addressing the root causes of homelessness and providing veterans with a stable place to live, World Veterans helps transition former service members from living on sidewalks into more permanent housing. Beyond Shelter: Comprehensive Support Services Side note: This does not include the fight to end veteran homelessness and just giving them a roof over their head. WorldVeterans does better than acquiesce, as it knows that real change is born out of comprehensive caregiving. Such services include health care access, career counseling, and life skills workshops as well as some legal veteran assistance. These services can be vital in solving the complex interrelated issues which cause or are caused by homelessness.

  2. Additionally, WorldVeterans has at its core a robust community outreach mission. The organization helps veterans again by building awareness within the communities and making sure they stay in remembrance. In addition to increasing the reach of WorldVeterans, volunteer opportunities and partnerships with other local organizations also help in responding more cooperatively & effectively. The facts are startling: thousands of veterans sleep homeless on any given night in America, and WorldVeterans is there to do its part. In so doing, a lifeline to veterans via resources like WorldVeterans becomes not just an act of charity -- it is the responsibility we have as a society from fellow citizens who risk all in service to our nation. WorldVeterans makes real change by touching on the underlying factors contributing to homelessness in a holistic manner. By way of offering transitional housing, among its other support services, the organization does everything it can to make sure that our veterans are not left behind and are able to get themselves back on track. The fight to end veteran homelessness is one that demands unwavering attention and infinite grace. In doing all these WorldVeterans becomes a light in the dark and is still of great importance!
