  2. Highlights • 3523 PIREPs Collected (July 14, 2005) • Flight Modes • Climb = 1180 • Cruise = 1323 • Descent = 1020 • 59 Moderate or Greater Turbulence Cases • 32 Moderate or Greater Icing Cases

Data Availability • Data available on the following website: • http://www.rap.ucar.edu/research/verification/MESABA/mesaba.html • Available in four different text file formats • Header file • Has information on each of the data columns as well as on each of the QC flags used. • Data Summary • Shows an overall breakdown of some select columns of data.

  4. Quality Control • Many of the variable went through some type of QC. • Changes to the data were made only when it made sense. • Every PIREP that required a change was given a flag which documents the variable changed.

  8. Future Work • Complete an analysis of Mesaba PIREPs matched to TAMDAR data. • Poster at the Annual AMS meeting in Atlanta. • Continue to fine tune the data to make it as clean as possible. • Continue to collect and log PIREPs from Mesaba Airlines through the 2nd half of the GLFE.
