In this text, we explore the importance of examining ourselves and placing God and His Kingdom first. Through renewing our minds, learning self-control, overcoming worldliness, and finding contentment, we can reach forward and make plans for a better future. Increasing our faith and caring for others are additional steps towards a fulfilling life in line with God's will.

“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? – Unless indeed you are disqualified.”2 Corinthians 13:5
With 2012 now here it is a good time to examine ourselves • In our lessons last week and today we want to notice some underlying attitudes that will help us keep our resolve to become better.
Seek First the Kingdom of God • Matthew 6:33 - This is the key to everything • It means that He is our priority • It means it is the first thing to be addressed

Reach Forward • Let us determine to NOT live in the past. Far too many live in mediocrity. • Such things destroy and damage body and soul • Christians need to move aheadRev. 3:15-17
