Gifford Pinchot was the chief of the: -Division of Forestry -Forest Service -Society of American Foresters Overall, he was a Forester (someone in charge of a forest)
-Pinchot is often referred to as the father of American conservation -Working with Roosevelt, he restructured and professionalized the management of the national forests -During his time in office, the forests reserves went from 60 forests covering 56 million acres in 1905 to 150 forests covering 172 million acres in 1910 -He led to the national goal of conserving natural resources
