  8. El pretérito de los verbos –ER/-IR -ER/-IR verbs in the preterite have the same endings! The endings for –ER/-IR verbs in the preterite are: -ER/-IR yo -í nosotros/as -imos tú -iste vosotros/as -isteis usted -ió ustedes -ieron ellos/ellas -ieron él/ella -ió Yoasistía la fiesta de mi amiga Sara. Irregularidades: Cambiosortográficos(Spelling changes) -ER & -IR verbs whose stem ends in a vowel have spelling changes in the Ud./él/ella and Uds./ellos/ellas forms In these forms, the “i” changes to “y” ¡OJO!   13. Irregularidades Just like in the present tense, there are some verbs that are completely irregular in the preterite. Four common verbs that are completely irregular in the preterite are SER, IR HACER, & VER. SER & IR have the same forms in the preterite! Nosotrosfuimos de excursión.
