About Kimchi Green onion kimchi Cabbage kimchi Kimchi is one of the most important food in Korea. It comes out in almost every meal. There’re a lot of kinds of kimchi such as cabbage, green onion, radish, and so on.
Recipe for Kimchi • Prepare cabbage, garlic, ginger, salt, red pe-pper, and little bit of sugar. • Cut cabbages in a half. • Sauce for kimchi is, red pepper, sugar, salt, ginger, garlic, etc. • After making sauce for kimchi, put the sau-ce between the cabbages. • You may ripen the kimchi at least for a few month. It's good to ripen the kimchi as lon-g as you can.
Bulgogi Bulgogi Bulgogi Pizza Bulgogi is the food that is made of thin slices of beef. Many foreigners like bulgogi, because it’s very delicious. When the pizza first came to Korea, Koreans made a pizza of their own. It was bulgogi pizza!
Recipe for Bulgogi • Slice the beef and chop it • Peel and slice the onion and green pepper • To make sauce, mix the soy sauce, sugar, honey, minced green onion and garlic, sesame oil, ses-ame, black pepper, and pear juice. *If you don't have pear juice, use water or drink called chung-ju. • Pour the sauce and fumble with each slice of m-eat • Gill them with green pepper, onion, and garlic
Tteokbokki Spicy tteokbokki Royal tteokbokki Tteokbokki is one of the most popular powdered food in Korea. Long time ago, tteobokki was royal food made of soy sauce. As time goes by, hot pepper paste was added and became spicy and common.
Recipe for Tteokbokki • Choose thin white rice cake for tteokbokki. Mix strings with a few drops of sesame seed oil. • Cut onion and carrot about 1/4 inch thick. • Soak mushroom in warm water for about 20minutes and cut into thin pieces. • Deseed green and red chily peppers and cut diagonally. • Season, and mix it well. • In a deep skillet, coat with oil, and pour seasoning. When seasoning starts to boil, add onion, carrot, mushroom, red and green pepper. Stir for a while. • Add rice cake, and keep stirring until all the ingredients are cooked.
Bibimbap Bibimbap is very common food in Korea, because it’s easy to make and very delicious. Jeon-ju is famous city for bibimbap. Now I’ll teach you how to make bibimbap. First, open the refrigerator. Second, take potherbs and bap. Third, put it in a dish, put some sesame oil, fried egg and red pepper paste. Finally, mix it and enjoy your meal!
Samgyetang Samgyetang is the food that we eat in summer for our health. Its main ingredient is chicken. We put glutinous rice in stomach of chicken, some ginseng, jujube, chestnut and so on.
Recipe for Samgyetang • Clean and wash chicken and divide its body. • Put jujube, chestnut, ginseng and glutinous rice. • Work in needle and thread to suture its body. • Then boil the chicken with a welsh onion and garlic for almost 1 hour. • Finally you can eat the Samgyetang.
Gimbap Tuna Gimbap Formula Gimbap We can eat it everyday, because there are many stores that sell this food. But we don’t eat it often. But when we go on a picnic, most of the people bring this. Also, this food has a rival called boiled rice wrapped up with fried tofu. Both of each food are very delicious.
After doing this assignment • Ho-jinDoh : I didn’t know that there are many delicious Korean food near us. After doing this work, I think we have to keep an eye on our own food. Let’s love our own food!!!! • Jin E Oh : Honestly, it was really frustrated with this assignment at first, because I thought it would be very boring, but as time passed by, I began enjoying this. I had fun with searching recipes and pictures of foods. Next time, I will be pleased to do this kind of assignment, especially about our culture.
